My project is in a week so that’s exciting, which means I’m doing a lot of last minute stuff to prepare for my project. I sent out email flyer reminders to those in my mailing list, so they remember that my project is actually happening. I also created a Facebook page and invited people, so that way more people will be aware. It is probably something I should have created sooner, but I didn’t think about it so now it exists. Better late than never I guess: not that it is really late, but it is later than I would have wanted. The Facebook page has a really great picture as a profile picture, which I used on my flyer and I am very proud of that. I have people who are R.S.V.Ping through that so it’s a little easier to get an idea of how many people may come. I also worked a lot on the tri-folds, which I’m trying to make look really good, so I’m working hard on those. I finished two of the three on Tuesday, so I just have the last one to get me through the week. I’m also editing my obstacle course just a bit, as when I tried it out I didn’t like it as much as I did the first time. It is only minor edits, so that is not a big deal.
The closer my project gets, the better I feel about it, which is good because I thought I would be nervous, but I’m not. However, I’ll probably get nervous the day of as I sit through rehearsal until 6pm and then go to the gym to set up. That is probably when I’ll get nervous and stuff, but for now it’s smooth sailing. Knowing me, as soon as the event starts, I’ll be fine, so there’s nothing to worry about there. I know I can do this really well and my consultant isn’t worried about me, so I’m not. Speaking of my consultant, we talked about me sending the reminders, which was good because that was definitely needed so people have a reminder for the time and the date and such, so they don’t forget because that would be really unfortunate.
I made a small checklist of things that I need to bring for my project and do the day before: charge the robots, check to make sure they are working, have the obstacle course ready and the tri-folds prepared. I also need to put the obstacle course materials and prizes in a box to carry. This weekend I am going to the dollar store to purchase prizes and getting the business cards I made printed with the Survey Monkey link.
